Vinyl Removal

What You Need to Know Before Removing Vinyl

Risks, costs and our liability policy for vinyl removal.

No liability for substrate damage. StickaLex accepts no responsibility for damage to paintwork, clear coat, or any other substrate arising from vinyl removal. By proceeding with the service, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

Risks & Considerations

Paint Damage

Vinyl bonds directly to the substrate over time. On vehicles or painted surfaces, removal can pull paint or clear coat — particularly on older or sun-damaged paintwork, or where the vinyl has been in place for several years.

Glue Residue

Even when the vinyl film comes away cleanly, adhesive residue is almost always left behind. The amount depends on the age of the vinyl, the type of adhesive used, and the surface it was applied to.

Chemical Costs

Removing adhesive residue requires specialist solvents and degreasers. These chemicals are included in our hourly rate — particularly on large vehicles or heavily aged installations.
